FROM YOUR PRESIDENT,
STEVEN JAKYMIWSeptember 30, 1999 Dinner Meeting Awards Night
Our first dinner meeting was our annual Awards Night where we all had a chance to honour Lydia Hladyshevsky with a Lifetime Honorary Member Award. This is in recognition of the time and talents she has put into our community.
In addition we awarded two scholarships. Winner of the Osvita Outstanding Accomplishment Award was Melanie Hnatiuk, a student at the University of Alberta. Winner of the Osvita Distinguished Achievement Award was Sergiy Polovy, a student at SAIT. Congratulations to both!
On behalf of the membership I would like to thank Olga Kizlyk Scarpari, Liz Wilson and Dr. Peter Harasym for their efforts in choosing the scholarship recipients.
