Dear Friends,

As you know, one of the objectives of our Federation is to promote the well being of our members. To this end, nominating them for various awards and citations may be a fine thing to do.

I wish to start a FYI:AWARDS piece on our website where such items can be posted for action by any of our members (I suspect that Roman Zakaluzny, our Info Director will find a better moniker) and copied in the various Newsletter, with appropriate credit to the Federation's website, of course.

I know there are great people in our Federation who deserve recognition . We have 17 Locals who can put forward names. Please do; and share your nominations on our website www.infoukes.com/ucpbf and email ucpbf@infoukes.com.

On another matter, I have been calling Presidents across Canada to get a "feel" of what's happening out there. There are some fine initiatives taking place, and there is an interest in helping Ukraine. Here are some ideas of what your Local might initiate in keeping with the Christmas spirit:

• SUPPORT the Ukrainian Social Services
• SUPPORT A FAMILY in Ukraine
• SPONSOR a student to study in Canada

Contact me for details. Peter Sorokan will be doing a special mail-out about the Federation's Partnering Program. This is a GREAT way to stay in touch with Ukraine. He will be looking forward to hearing from you.
