ABOUT OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Association of Ottawa will award up to two scholarships annually. The awards will be made on the basis of academic merit and extracurricular accomplishments, in particular those contributing to the Ukrainian Canadian community.
Applications are evaluated for academic merit (transcripts, previous awards & scholarships), volunteer activities including those in the Ukrainian community, and extracurricular activities. As part of the application process, individuals are required to submit a one page type-written essay on a predetermined topic as well as two letters of reference.
Applications will be “blindly” evaluated. That is, names, addresses, or distinguishing information that would reveal the applicant’s identity on the application will not be made available to scholarship evaluators.
Scholarship applicants are encouraged to reapply in subsequent years.
If the applications received are deemed to not be of sufficient quality, the Scholarship Committee may withhold awarding a scholarship for that academic year.
