TREASURE FOUND IN UKRAINE
The biggest treasure in the history of independent Ukraine: more than 10 thousand coins of the Crimean khanate, was found on the Tepe-Oba mountain in the region of Feodosia (the Crimea). According to O. Oleshchuk, The director of the Feodosia Money Museum: “The treasure was found by chance in a jug (which has a look of teapot), which was dug up in the wood on the mountain. This is the biggest treasure in the history of independent Ukraine. Before that, the biggest treasure was also found in Crimea, in Chufut – Kale (Bahchysaraj region). 4,250 coins were founded at that time”. UKRAINIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE VILLAGE WEBSITE This guided tour website has been specifically developed for those visitors who are unable to have an on-site visitor experience at this open air museum. From the comfort of your computer, you can now visit every corner of the museum. You can see every room in every house or structure thanks to a comprehensive collection of contemporary photographs. Some historic buildings also have accompanying audio clips that allow you to listen to the original inhabitants of these buildings, as they describe their experiences in east central Alberta prior to 1930. The UCHV Guided Tour website also contains a Ukrainian dictionary describing terms used by Ukrainian-Canadians in the 1920s. This unique collection was compiled during the course of researching the buildings now located at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village, and offers insight into Ukrainian words and "Ukrainianzied" terms used in east central Alberta by 1930. http://tapor.ualberta.ca/heritagevillage New e-mail address!
