DAVID BURLIUK EXHIBIT.

He was the founder of the Futurist Movement in art and literature in Eastern Europe before the First World War,  We have been working the Winnipeg Art Gallery to do the show

SO WHO ARE WE, REALLY?  We’re a service group, bringing together business persons & professionals with disparate political, religious and generational origins and viewpoints in the service of Ottawa’s Ukrainian-Canadian community.  We work hard, but also like to enjoy ourselves.  If you want to be part of the most dynamic group in the Ukrainian community of Ottawa, fill in the membership form and mail it in, along with your first year’s dues.

Find the membership form on:

http://www.infoukes.com/ucpbaott/docs/mem_appl.htm

HAVE YOU RENEWED YOUR MEMBERSHIP?

WHY NOT?

Mail a cheque or money order for your membership fees to:

UCPBA(O)

Attn: Treasurer

913 Carling Ave.

Ottawa, ON K1Y 4E3

Individual:  $55.

Family: $65.

Student: $10.

Individual & family members get a $20. tax receipt for a donation to the scholarship fund that is included in your dues.

Renewing promptly gives the Board the opportunity to devote its time to programming and projects for the members rather than hounding delinquents (ie: you!) for the paltry sum that makes up the membership fee.  So avoid those harassing midnight telephone calls, embarrassing letters to your employer, public shaming at community events and denunciations from the pulpit: remit your 2006/07 membership today!

Dr. Martha Klosevych will be doing her residency in family medicine in Ottawa.

A NEW BOOK

Kobzar's Children is an anthology of short historical fiction, memoirs, and poems written about the Ukrainian immigrant experience. The stories span a century of history; and they contain stories of internment, homesteading, famine, displacement, concentration camps, and this new century's Orange Revolution. Edited by Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch, Kobzars's Children is a moving social document that honours the tradition of the kobzars and revives memories once deliberately forgotten.  For more info, or to order, see:
