We have had several meeting of the Board and are working on developing a full agenda for the coming term, representing new vibrant ideas that will interest the diverse membership. The programming committee has been working on an agenda that will include some of our continuing favourite activities such as the golf tournament, networking and dinner evenings with fascinating and informative speakers and new events. The UCPBA of Toronto endeavours to work closely with Canadian Ukrainian owned businesses whether large or small. Many avenues will be available to promote your business, whether it is holding a networking event at your facility or your sponsorship of a UCPBA event. If you are interested in promoting your business for a networking evening or a corporate sponsorship, please call Irene Nazarewycz @ 416-236-2093 or email lmkowalyk@rogers.com.
The board and members that were present at the AGM expressed their
appreciation to Roman and Irene Nazarewycz for their enthusiastic dedication
to the UCPBA over the years. This resulted in milestone events, such as
honouring Mayor David Miller and Former Premier of Saskatchewan Rot Romanow
as well as numerous successful book launches supporting Ukrainian authors
that brought Ukrainian events to the mainstream. By bringing the office and
publication of ONLINE "in-house" many thousands of dollars were saved. This
savings funded many of the upscale events. Incoming President Lydia Kowalyk
presented both Roman and Irene with gifts of appreciation to the applause of
all in attendance.
Annually, interested students are invited to write about the Famine Genocide
1932-1933 in Ukraine, where up to ten million perished. These awards are
presented in mid summer and the Famine Genocide committee would like to
thank the UCPBA for their generous financial support. The awards will be
acknowledged at the time of the presentation and will also appear on the
faminegenocide.ca website.
A Calendar of Events with our exciting new programs has been included. There are many more activities that we are in the process of finalising. In order to notify you of the most up to date information please check our website at http://www.infoukes.com/ucpba-toronto. Due to the high cost of mailing and the time, we will be providing selective updates by mail. |
