BOHDAN AND GLORIA CHEMERYNSKY FUND

Established in 1997, the Bohdan and Gloria Chemerynsky Fund sponsors two annual scholarships awarded to the best students of the Economy Department (specializing in Business Administration and Accounting) at Lviv University. Occasionally, the Fund also sponsors publishing projects, such as Liubov Protsyk's art book Vytynanky (Lviv, 1999).

The Chemerynsky Fund was created by and named after Mr. Bohdan and Mrs. Gloria Chemerynsky of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born in Western Ukraine, Mr. Chemerynsky completed his high-school education in Lviv, but World War II destroyed his chances to obtain university education in his native Ukraine. In the 1940s Mr. Chemerynsky moved to Belgium and from there, to Canada where he completed his university studies and had a long an successful career as an accountant in Winnipeg.
