Projects Mark 120 Years of Ukrainians in Canada

Ihor Ostash, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada, met with the members of the Canada Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, headed by MP Mark Warawa, and discussed issues of further bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Canada.

In particular, the participants of the meeting discussed two cultural projects; Ukrainian Day to be held on May 11, 2011 at the Government Conference Centre in Ottawa, and the Historical Train of the Ukrainian Pioneers project to mark the occasion of the 120th Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Canada being celebrated this year.

The Honourable Raynell Andreychuk, Senator of the Parliament of Canada, MPs James Bezan, Borys Wrzesnewsky and Bonnie Crombie, and Paul Grod, National President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and Taras Zalusky, UCC Executive Director were among the participants of the meeting.
