Save A Life

Urgent appeal for help in the hope to win your empathy and understanding

Hello, my name is Oxana Senyshyn, aged 27. I come from a small town, Mykolaiv, in Lviv region, Ukraine. When I was a child, an atrocious tragedy shook the peaceful life of my family. My older sister Olya died in 1986 of pulmonary hypertension (congenital anomaly of the pulmonary artery). Similarly, my younger sister Solomia died in 2005 of the same disease. I find it difficult to put my feelings into words. This was undoubtedly a sad loss for my family. But my parents and I summoned up our strength and will to live, hoping that time heals.

In 2007, I was diagnosed with the same horrible disease. Pulmonary hypertension is increased pressure in the pulmonary arteries. Moreover, the pressure increases day-by-day. When it reaches a critical point, the heart stops and the person dies. Unfortunately, there are no remedies for this illness. The only way out is a lung transplant. As I don’t have much time left, it is indispensable to perform the surgery as soon as possible.

Fortunately, I am lucky to be accepted by the UKGM clinic (Universitats Klinikum Giessen und Marburg) in Gießen, Germany. The key condition for hospitalization is a pre-paid amount of 300,000 Euro. This sum covers a pre-operative period and the operation itself. Another amount of 150,000 Euro is required after the first payment as the basis of another contract for the post-operative and rehabilitation period. Thus, the final cost of this operation is equal to 450,000 Euro. This sum, which is the price for my life, seems beyond the clouds for me, a girl who for five years in a row can hardly earn enough money for her daily treatment.

I am in despair. I have been contacting various charitable funds and social entities, but have received only empty promises, refusals or indifference.

Meanwhile, time passes by. I am too much in love with this life to give myself up to this terrible condition. I do want to live! That’s why with all my heart I beg for your mercy!

You are my last hope and chance to be saved. With belief in my true heart and despairing soul, I address those who do care. Any contribution is most sincerely appreciated. Contract documents between the Clinic and me shall be provided upon request. A copy of the findings on my medical condition and more detailed information about my treatment is available at The New Pathway Editorial Office.
