UKRAINE HOUSE – VANCOUVER 2010
Ukraine House, under the
patronage of the Ukrainian Embassy in Canada (representing the
interests of Ukraine’s National Olympic
Committee), and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, will be officially opened on February 11th, 2010. Ukraine
House is located at the Ukrainian Catholic Centre at 3150 Ash Street (enter
from W 16th Ave, 1 ½ blk. West of Cambie St.) in Vancouver and will
operate for the duration of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, Thursday,
February 11 to Sunday, February 28.
Ukraine House will be open to the general public with the
following exceptions: limited access Thursday, Feb. 11 and Monday, Feb 15;
Closed Sunday, Feb.14; Tuesday, Feb. 16; and Tuesday, Feb 23.
Entertainment and other events will fill the days that Ukraine
House will be open to the public. Enjoy large screen TV coverage of the
Olympics in both languages. See performers from both Ukraine and Canada. Participate in an
auction of sports memorabilia - including the runners worn by Serhii Bubka when
he set the pole-vault world record.
Ukrainian food and alcoholic beverages will be served. Souvenirs
as well as Team Ukraine athletic clothing will
be available. Plenty of parking and ready access by public transit, will make
Ukraine House the place to be when in Vancouver for the 2010 Winter
Olympics.
