Opening of Canada Ukraine Business Forum with remarks by Marko Shevchenko, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, and seated left to right, Forum Co-chair John Moskalyk and Zenon Potichny, CUCC President(The New Pathway) – The latest in a series of Canada-Ukraine business forums with the theme “The Gateway for B2B Partnerships” was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on November 28-29, 2012, and organized by the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce. Sessions and panel discussions were held for the sectors of Energy, Mining, Oil and Gas, Agriculture and Finance in business and industry. Almost 100 participants and presenters were registered, over forty of which were representing companies, and levels of government and state agencies in Ukraine. Two memoranda of understanding (MOUs) were signed, one being between the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine with the CUCC, and that of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs with the CUCC. Forum Dinner Keynote Speaker was Erast Huculak, CM, and Honorary Consul-General of Ukraine in Canada, who presented his topic “Entrepreneurism and philanthropy: an example of excellence in business, patriotism & community benevolence”.

The CUCC 20th Anniversary Gala Banquet was attended by some 300 forum participants and guests, held in The Imperial Room at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on November 29. Greetings were given by Hon. Ralph Goodale on behalf of the Liberal Opposition, and by Hon. Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism. Keynote Speaker Danielle Bochove, Business News Network, from her perspective and experience as an international journalist, presented in her talk “International Trade and Business” an assessment of global economic crises and impact on business in various parts of the world.
