Documentation Centre Produces Multilingual Harvest of Despair DVD

TORONTO – Although it has been more than 20 years since the film Harvest of  Despair about the Holodomor Famine Genocide in  Ukraine 1932-33 was produced by the Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre (UCRDC), it is still considered the most authoritative documentary film on the Famine. Proof of this is the fact that the Ministry of External Affairs of Ukraine, through The Consulate of Ukraine in Toronto, has funded the production of 1200 copies of a trilingual version of the film on DVD for the purpose of making it available to the delegations meeting for the 63rd General Assembly of the United Nations which opened on September 16, 2008.  Even though English, French and Spanish versions of the film, as well as one in Ukrainian, have existed for some time, this will be the first time where the three language versions will be on one disc. The trilingual DVD is also available for purchase. For information, contact info@ucrdc.org.
