Dr. Christine Turkewych (right) received Jubilee Medal presented by Sen. Raynell AndreychukThe Shevchenko Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal to Dr. Christine Turkewych in a recent ceremony in Ottawa. “The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal was created to honour Her Majesty’s 60 years of work on behalf of Canadians, and to recognize Canadians who exemplify a similar dedication to their community. Dr. Turkewych is one such Canadian whose accomplishments deserve our recognition.” said Senator Andreychuk who presented Dr. Turkewych with the award. Dr. Turkewych is the Director of Literary Arts with the Shevchenko Foundation and is responsible for the Kobzar Literary Awards; the John Syrnick Award for Journalism and the Kobzar Writer’s Scholarship at Humber College. We are proud of her valuable contributions to the Foundation as well as to the wider Ukrainian Canadian community and wish her Mnohaya Lita!
