UCC Congratulates Robert Sopuck, New Chair of Canada Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group

 

Robert Sopuck, MP, Chair CUPFGOTTAWA-June 23, 2011-The Ukrainian Canadian Congress congratulated Robert Sopuck, the newly elected chairman of the Canada Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group (CUPFG) at a meeting held June 20th on Parliament Hill. “In the upcoming year, I look forward to working as Chair to build on the many cultural and economic ties that exist between Canada and Ukraine,” stated Sopuck.

“Bob comes from one of the most Ukrainian Canadian ridings in the country and we believe that he will continue to be a strong advocate for the interests of our community,” stated UCC National President Paul Grod.

Mr. Sopuck replaces Mark Warawa as chair of the CUPFG. “I would like to thank outgoing chairman Mark Warawa for his tireless efforts and hard work on behalf of the Ukrainian Canadian community,” said Grod.
