15 Ukrainian Icons Blessed at St. Demetrius Residence

Rev. Father John Tataryn, and clergy of St. Demetrius The Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church blessed 15 newly-installed Ukrainian icons in the Chapel of St. Demetrius Residence for seniors in Etobicoke, Ont. A Solemn Divine Liturgy in celebration of the Annunciation of the Mother of God (Благовіщення) preceded the blessings.

The icons represent the twelve major feast days of the Ukrainian Catholic - Byzantine Rite church calendar year and three saints, generously donated by residents and members of the community.

Present at the service were Borys Wrzesnewskyj, MP for Etobicoke Centre, Toronto City Councillor Gloria Lindsay Luby, members of the community, as well as the residents of St. Demetrius Residence.
