Puppies
And the Kobzar
sang
his song
drifing in the wind.
And the tears
on his cheeks
with him
did sing.
And the rain
in his heart
remembering
Kozaks lost
laid heavy
on his soul.

"Ukraino! Ukraino!"
your love
is as wide as the Steppes.
Your golden
sheaths of wheat
The light that guides me
the honey
from your mak
is sweet
on my lips
and it's your
blood
that flows
in my veins.
And this
Kozaks
should never forget
from whose
loins
they came.
For this land
you must always
respect
to lay down
your life
always remembering
never forgetting
to pay her back
in kind.
